Before you come

What your first session is like

What really happens in a first circle: no awkward exercises, no obligation to speak, nothing to prepare.

At your first session you don't have to do anything special: you arrive, sit in the circle, listen to the opening round and speak only if you want to. It lasts about three hours, opens with a few minutes of silence, continues with a round where each man says how he arrives, then works the theme of the month and closes with gratitude. Comfortable clothes, water and punctuality are all you need.

Before you arrive

Let us know by WhatsApp (+34 677 203 137) or email so we can save you a seat and confirm the exact time. Arrive five to ten minutes early: we start on time, and walking into an open circle breaks the atmosphere that has just been built.

Don't prepare anything. Many men arrive thinking they need to bring a topic or a dramatic story. You don't. Coming with whatever is there that day — tiredness, curiosity, discomfort — is more than enough material.

The first minutes

We sit in a circle with no table between us. The facilitator says the agreements out loud: what is said here stays here, speak in the first person, no unsolicited advice, and nobody has to speak. Then come a few minutes of silence or guided breathing to come down from the day.

Next is the opening round. Each man says in a few sentences how he arrives. When your turn comes you can say your name and that it is your first time — that is all anyone expects of you.

The body of the gathering

We work the theme of the month. Sometimes that means talking in pairs or threes, sometimes movement, breath or a body exercise, and sometimes one man works in the centre while the rest hold the space. Nothing is compulsory: you can take part by watching.

What surprises newcomers is almost never what gets said, but the silence in which it is heard. Nobody interrupts, nobody minimises, nobody offers solutions.

Closing, and what comes next

We close with a short round: one sentence per man about what he leaves with. What others said is not commented on, inside or outside — that is the most important part of the agreement.

Many men stay to talk afterwards. If the circle fits you, come back on the next circle (1st or 3rd Saturday of the month), take the 18-session pass, or join 'The Hero's Path', the nine-month journey with a stable group.
