A group of men sitting down to speak in confidence, with clear agreements and no unsolicited advice. Here is how it works — and how to join one in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
A men's circle is a recurring gathering where a small group of men speak in confidence, under clear agreements of confidentiality and without unsolicited advice. It is neither therapy nor training. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Círculo de Hombres GC runs its open circle two Saturdays a month (1st and 3rd), 10:00–13:00, at C/ Luis de la Cruz 4, for 20 € per session.

A simple definition
A men's circle is a recurring gathering where a small group of men sit down — usually in a circle, with no visible hierarchy — to talk about what is actually going on in their lives. It is not group therapy and it is not a training workshop: it is a practice of listening among equals, held together by a set of agreements everyone accepts on entering.
Those agreements are almost always the same: what is said in the circle stays in the circle; you speak in the first person; nobody gives advice unless it is asked for; and nobody has to speak. That minimal structure is what makes possible a conversation that rarely happens at the bar, at work or at home.
What a gathering looks like
A circle usually lasts two to three hours. It opens with a moment of silence or a short meditation to land in the body. Then comes the opening round: each man says, in a few sentences, how he arrives. From there the group works on a theme — the father, fear, anger, relationships, money, shame — through speech, movement or breath. It closes with a short round of gratitude.
At Círculo de Hombres GC the facilitators are Juan Naranjo, Mike and Chris, each working from a different tool: meditation and coaching, intuition and accompaniment, and body work and dance.
What it is good for
Most men arrive because of something concrete: a separation, a loss, a change of job, the feeling of running on autopilot. What they usually find is simpler and more useful than a solution: a place to put words to something they had kept quiet for years, and the discovery that other men carry the same thing.
It is not a space against anyone. A men's circle is not opposed to women or to any group: it is a place to look at your own masculinity honestly, and that usually improves every relationship around it.
How to join a circle in Gran Canaria
The way in is the Regular Circle: an open gathering two Saturdays a month (1st and 3rd), 10:00–13:00 that you can attend with no commitment and no previous experience. If you then want a longer journey, there is «The Hero's Path»: 9 months, 18 meetings and 4 archetypes, limited to 20 men.
